Curse of Strahd - New models

"I am the ancient."
"I am the land."
"My beginnings are lost in the darkness of my past. "
"I am not dead."
"Nor am I alive."
"I am undead, forever."

Umbder Hulks - Merry Christmas

Umber Hulks painted by my own fair hand and ready to smash and confuse some intrepid adventurers.

These models are from the Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures range, they come primed and ready to paint. They weren't the easiest models to paint due to their size and the pose they are in, but well worth the time spent.

I base painted these using Vallejo Beasty Brown, (72043), then added a lighter brown shade and dry brush with Valejo Leagher Brown, (72040). Once these base colours were dry I then used a GW paint called Jokaero Orange to add the nice copper look to the models.

Vallejo Light Green, (70942), was used for the eyes and GW Karak Stone for the pinchy mandibles.

And finally for the base, I used a new product on my desk called Vallejo Ground texture, Rough Grey pumice. I have a few of these ground textures now and they really do a great job of making the bases look good. Once the texture was dry I used a Vallejo Blue Wash to give the bases the distinct look of the Underdark.

𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯𝅘𝅥𝅯......well, it's a marvelous night for a moondance......𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯𝅘𝅥𝅯

"Beware the moon, lads"

The pictures below are of some lycanthropes that I purchased from eBay a few days ago.

I started with just adding the base colours of dark grey for the fur and a medium shade grey for the skin. Once that dried I used the Army Painter, Dark Quickshade.

24 hours later and once the QuickShade was dry I matte varnished the models, added the lighter gret shade to the fur and based the models with a Vallejo ground texture.

Moloch and his giant "$*((*@&"

Moloch knows no mercy......or so he says after a few beers.

Below are some pictures of a new Moloch idol that I picked up from Otherworld miniatures.

It's a beautifully sculpted model and comes with the altar and bronze sconces.

The two lit scones didn't come with bases to I glued them to these spre MDF dungeon tiles.

And the final course of brains comes served with....

Here are the final tranche of modern, zombie apocalypse related photos from what I have built and painted so far.

I will be posting more soon, I have at least another 15+ MDF buildings and various other pieces of scenery to sort out.

Nice forklift truck from TT combat and
the shipping crates are from XLC Wargame Terrain.

28mm American style, suburban houses from TT Combat.
These are simple to build.
I spray painted the base colours using Cobra Aerosole paints.

I was keen to make sure that these houses all look the same from the outside so that they would appear to be from the same housing estate.
The roof detail, different coloured tiles, was achieved by using acrylic paint pens.
I simply used these pens to colour in the tiles that I wanted to look lighter.

More zombie goodness

More mayhem, more guts and more stuff to paint.

Pictures of the mostly completed vehicles that I bought for my new zombie game, these were picked up from Satute 2019 and also from eBay.

The van and hummer are just blocks of resin, they are very solid and heavy....which is good in my books.

The two pick up trucks are plastic and hollow underneath, they are both nicely detailed but lacking in the solid feel category. But once they were painted they looked very nice on the table.

The drink vending machines and piles of garbage bags are from TT Combat, I have a whole stack of their stuff and as always it's very good quality.

Brains and a side order of fries please.....🧟‍♂️

The zombie apocalypse will not be televised.

Below are new pictures of some modern day builings and scenery that I bought whilst I was at Salute 2019.

These new models are from XLC Wargame Terrain.
Very easy to put together, good price and they all came with the details that you can see in the pictures. I believe that these are MDF 5mm boards, cut to the correct shape and then they have a outer sticker applied to them to give the building appearance.

Anarusi Codex

Search for the Anarusi Codex.

Some photos from a D&D game that I ran a couple of weeks ago, this was a one shot dungeon that I ran in 1 evening for some of my gaming buddies.

The basic premise for the dungeon was for the party to travel to a marsh area in the Forgotten Realms, locate an abandoned keep and retrieve a lost tome called the Anarusi Codex......simple......

Ruined remains of the keep and a giant packet of Haribo.

The party of "brave" adventurers, Chen, Dain, Keth, Jez, William and Jade.

"T'is but a Balor and his vast collection of statues.", shout the party

Jungle is Massive

New jungle tiles...home made

I needed to get some jungle/marshland type tiles ready for a dungeon that I was running a couple of weeks ago, and that might also need to be used for a future foray.

These were made from some old pieces of 3mm MDF that I cut to irregular sizes. Once cut I then pasted some mud effect acrylic to the bases and fixed the plants in place with my trusty old glue gun.

The foliage come from a string of plastic aquarium plants.
