Slave Traders of Mulhorandi

The Slavers of Mulhorandi must be stopped.

Here are some photos from a D&D session that I ran over the weekend, the game was run over a Friday evening and all day on the Saturday.

It was an epic adventure that saw the party start their travels on the west coast on the Sea of Fallen Stars, book passage upon a huge steam and magic powered airship, fight hoards of demons, crocodile cultists and a Warlock with a personality complex.

Entire map layout the day before the game.

Trapped chest room.

Zombie Apocalypse.....re-updated

New models to strike terror into the hearts my gaming buddies...or do I mean juicy, sweet brains.......

Image result for zombie brains

These new models are from The Walking Dead All Out War game from Mantic. These are superb models, all of them are nicely moulded and they make a great addition to the gaming table.

A gaming buddy of mine picked these up at the UK Gaming Expo, (ukgamingexpo.co.uk) for the bargain price of £20. I've seen the same boxed game for a lot more money online so this was a great buy.

Any way, enough of the chit chat....here are the models.
As always these were base painted, then dipped in Army Builder Quick Shade, left for 24 hours and then matte varnish, fine detail and based.

I have to say these look great and I cannot wait to get them on the table.

Enjoy...

Giant Cyclops of Doom

And another one bites the dust...................

Below are some pictures of a large cyclops that I finished painting this week, the photos show a step by step approach to how I paint my miniatures.

Enjoy...

Step 1.
Base paint colours, trying to keep within the lines so that no colours seep onto parts where they shouldn't be.

Step 2.
Once I am happy with the base colours I use Army Painter Quick Shade Dark to add a level of shading to the model.
Then I wait 24 hours for the Quick Shade to dry and work its magic.

Step 3.
Paint with matte varnish to remove the shine from the Quick Shade, plus the varnish is great at protecting the paint from chips and damage.

Step 4.
Once the matte varnish is dry, then add the fine detail and a few more levels of shading.
And add the base detail, this isn't finished yet as I still have to add some shading detail to the base and some lovely green grass.

New stuff painted but not all finished yet

I'm slowly running out of room....

Being self-employed sometimes means extended periods of no employment and 2018 has certainly been a tough year so far. Work has been very quiet and I've only really worked 4 months in total so far.

Hopefully that'll all change soon as I have a number of clients who want to interview me about potential work....so fingers crossed..!!

However this extended downtime has it's upside, which is more time being spent with the family, enjoying the unusual hot weather, the World Cup being on TV and also lots more time to spend painting my ever expanding miniature collection.

Here are some new pictures of some models that I have both started and finished in the last week.

Enjoy...

Classic D&D Cloaker.
I bought two of these from eBay, they are from Reaper Miniatures.

Enormous book case and books, I bought this at the Salute gaming convention at the Excel centre in London a couple of years ago. I have two of these models, one of which I painted years ago and this one has now been started. I'll add the fine detail at a later date and add the new pictures.

Two new boats to add to my expanding armada of sea worthy vessels.

Industrial Spacecraft rooms - Heroic Maps

Great maps, great price...

Here are some pictures of the new Industrial Spacecraft rooms that I downloaded from www.drivethrurpg.com

I've used these maps for various D&D games that I have run but I am now expanding my portfolio of gaming to both the modern and futuristic spheres.

Enjoy...

The detail on the maps is excellent, once printed off I used a glue stick and back them onto 2mm thick card. I find that the 2mm card is thick enough to be sturdy but is easy to cut through with a crafting knife or scissors.

Zombie Apocalypse...........update

New models to feast your eyes on......

These beauties arrived from eBay a couple of weeks ago, they are from the Warlords Games Zombie Vixen range.

I have to admit that I am not a BIG fan of building models from a huge sprue, I prefer that the model is one piece and ready to go. But I had fun building these and customising them.

Enjoy...
